Dwight is teaching a group of 4th grade kids beginning computer programming, using Processing. The lessons are available online via the class website.

Kids Weather Forecasting Website

Dwight Owens is creating a dynamic website where kids will be able to forecast the weather. This site uses PHP to connect an interactive Flash-driven front end with a MySQL database on the back-end, which store forecasts made by grade school students in the Greater Victoria area. It's designed as an enrichment activity connected with the UVic School-Based Weather Station Network. Computer-Generated Weather Art

Dwight is experimenting with the processing system for creating computer-generated art. Visit the weather art page to see the latest.

Mobile Media

Dwight is developing Flash-based multimedia materials for mobile delivery. These include a Shallow-Water Wave Calculator for Pocket PC, and a Video Podcast on Watersheds.
